HÀ-BI-TUS è una coreografia che esplora profondamente il tema dell’identità, ponendosi domande fondamentali su cosa costituisce veramente il nostro essere. L’autrice riflette su come distinguere tra la nostra vera essenza e le sovrastrutture che ci vengono imposte da società, cultura e contesto sociale.
L’invito è a interrogarci su quante volte indossiamo metaforicamente abiti che non ci appartengono, adottando comportamenti e idee ereditate o imposte, spesso senza esserne consapevoli. Allo stesso modo, riflette su come possiamo influenzare gli altri, modellando inconsapevolmente le loro “vesti”.
La parola latina “hà-bi-tus”, che traduciamo come “abito”, è usata qui per indicare non solo l’aspetto esteriore ma soprattutto le abitudini e i comportamenti che definiscono eticamente una persona. La coreografia suggerisce che abitare il nostro corpo, ovvero accettare e modellare la nostra identità in modo autentico, è un processo complesso che richiede consapevolezza e riflessione. Costruire questa identità autentica è simile alla creazione di un abito: un processo che implica aggiustamenti, tagli e aggiunte, e che può incontrare approvazione o disprezzo. La perfetta armonia si raggiunge quando forma e contenuto, l’esterno e l’interno, sono intimamente connessi.
Infine, HÀ-BI-TUS ci spinge a riflettere sul nostro reale potere di scelta nell’intraprendere questo percorso di scoperta e accettazione della nostra vera identità.

HÀ-BI-TUS is a choreography that deeply explores the theme of identity, posing fundamental questions about what truly constitutes our being. The author reflects on how to distinguish between our true essence and the superstructures imposed on us by society, culture, and social context. The invitation is to question how many times we metaphorically wear clothes that do not belong to us, adopting inherited or imposed behaviors and ideas, often without being aware of it. Similarly, it reflects on how we can influence others, unconsciously shaping their "clothes”. The Latin word "hà-bi-tus," which we translate as "habit," is used here to indicate not only the external appearance but especially the habits and behaviors that ethically define a person. The choreography suggests that inhabiting our body, that is, accepting and shaping our identity authentically, is a complex process that requires awareness and reflection.
Building this authentic identity is similar to creating a garment: a process that involves adjustments, cuts, and additions, and that can meet with approval or disapproval. Perfect harmony is achieved when form and content, the external and the internal, are intimately connected.
Finally, HÀ-BI-TUS pushes us to reflect on our real power of choice in undertaking this journey of discovery and acceptance of our true identity.
