Simone Lorenzo Benini (1992) lavora come dance artist tra Italia, Austria e Finlandia.
Nel 2023 è stato selezionato da Anghiari Dance Hub dove ha creato il suo ultimo lavoro (e poi entrarono i cinghiali) presentato presso Körper (Napoli) e il festival Buffalo al MACRO di Roma. Nello stesso anno, insieme a Miriam Budzàkovà, ha creato lo spettacolo With their virgin eyes, gambling on the milky way of a homemade tombola che ha debuttato a Kiosk Festival (SK). Dal 2021 collabora regolarmente come performer con la coreografa finlandese Elina Pirinen in tutti i suoi ultimi lavori.
Nella sua esplorazione artistica, Simone incorpora elementi di improvvisazione, teatro e tecniche somatiche, sperimentando con diversi linguaggi espressivi. Utilizza questi strumenti per approfondire la complessità delle esperienze personali, portando elementi privati nella sfera pubblica. Le sue creazioni impiegano spesso un linguaggio che bilancia leggerezza ironica con un’esplorazione delle profondità del subconscio umano, cercando l’interazione e la partecipazione del pubblico.
Ha conseguito una laurea con specializzazione in Danza e Performance presso la Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) a Salisburgo (2022) e una laurea in Fisioterapia presso la Fontys University of Applied Sciences a Eindhoven (NL, 2016). Nel 2024 riceve la borsa di studio Body & Performance Practices al TanzQuartier di Vienna e il supporto di AIEP all’ interno del progetto NAOcrea 2024. Sempre nel 2024 viene selezionato dal bando DiDstudio_NAO24.

Simone Lorenzo Benini (1992) works as a dance artist between Italy, Austria, and Finland. In 2023, he was selected by Anghiari Dance Hub where he created his latest work (e poi entrarono i cinghiali), presented at Körper (Naples) and the Buffalo festival at MACRO in Rome. In the same year, together with Miriam Budzàkovà, he created the performance With their virgin eyes, gambling on the milky way of a homemade tombola which premiered at Kiosk Festival (SK).
Since 2021, he has regularly collaborated as a performer with the Finnish choreographer Elina Pirinen in all her latest works. In his artistic exploration, Simone incorporates elements of improvisation, theatre, and somatic techniques, experimenting with different expressive languages. He uses these tools to delve into the complexity of personal experiences, bringing private elements into the public sphere. His creations often employ a language that balances ironic lightness with an exploration of the depths of the human subconscious, seeking interaction and audience participation.
Simone holds a degree with a specialization in Dance and Performance from the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in Salzburg (2022) and a degree in Physiotherapy from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven (NL, 2016). In 2024, Simone received the Body & Performance Practices scholarship at TanzQuartier in Vienna, and the support of AIEP within the NAOcrea 2024 project. Also in 2024, he was selected in the DiDstudio_NAO24 call.
