Mariagiulia Serantoni - Germania

Mariagiulia Serantoni è un’artista, performer e coreografa il cui fascino per l’interazione tra suono e corpo permea le sue fantasie creative. È guidata da un desiderio sinestetico di capire che rumore fa il moto, del corpo e dell’anima. Suoni e rumori sono interlocutori e ispirazione per toccare universi adiacenti alla realtà. Integra concetti come frequenze, distorsioni e accordature alle modulazioni energetiche per innescare nuove forme relazionali e promuovere modi alternativi di abitare spazi intimi e comuni e costruire nuove architetture del vivere in società.
Consegue una laurea in coreografia e ricerca presso il Master Exerce, ICI-CCN, Montpellier (2022) e un diploma presso la Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi, corso di teatrodanza, Milano, 2009.
I suoi lavori, tra cui Eutropia, Underground Memoirs e Diagonals and other love stories, sono stati presentati in vari festival tra cui MilanOltre, La Democrazia del corpo, Sydney Fringe Festival.
Nel 2018 Eutropia è nominato per il premio Equilibrio mentre Underground Memoirs riceve il premio Vivo d’Arte nel 2019 ed è presentato al Romaeuropa Festival.
Dal 2020 collabora con MICCE, un’associazione con sede a Bologna con una visione transfemminista, inclusiva e plurale. Con MICCE, in collaborazione con Francesca Penzo, crea Metis un’azione coreografica e sonora sulla geografia di genere che debutta al festival Danza Urbana nel 2023.
Vive a Berlino dal 2014 dove collabora per quattro anni con la compagnia Laborgras. Collabora con la coreografa Jule Flierl per time out of joint e con Rita Mazza come consulenza alla ricerca coreografica per il progetto The Voice presentato al festival Tanz Im August 2024.
Nel 2009 cofonda la compagnia Fattoria Vittadini con cui collabora fino al 2021.
Con il suo nuovo lavoro, ancora in corso, Mariagiulia sta aprendo una nuova fase artistica, basando la sua ricerca coreografica sulla pratica “del corpo elettrico” incentrata sull’attivazione di corpo, voce e suono attraverso crescendo fisici, energetici ed emotivi.

Mariagiulia Serantoni is a dance artist, performer and choreographer whose fascination with the interplay between sound and body permeates her creative endeavors. She is driven by a synesthetic desire to grasp what noise the motion makes, of the body and soul. Sound and noises are interlocutors and inspiration to touch universes adjacent to reality. She integrates concepts such as frequencies, distortions and tuning into energy modulations to trigger new relational forms and promote alternative ways of inhabiting intimate and common spaces,
building new architectures of living in society. She holds a degree in choreography and research from Master Exerce, ICI-CCN, Montpellier, 2022, and a diploma at Paolo Grassi School of Drama, dance-theater course, Milan, 2009. Her original works, including Eutropia, Underground Memoirs and
Diagonals and other love stories have garnered acclaim at festivals and various venues, including MilanOltre, La Democrazia del corpo, Sydney Fringe Festival and others. In 2018 Eutropia was nominated for the Equilibrio prize, while Underground Memoirs received the Vivo d'Arte prize in 2019 and is being presented at the Romaeuropa Festival. Since 2020 she collaborates with MICCE, a Bologna based association with a transfemminist, inclusive and plural vision. With MICCE, in collaboration with Francesca Penzo, she creates Metis a sound and choreographic action about gender geography which premieres at Danza Urbana Festival 2023. She lives in Berlin since 2014 where she collaborates for four years with the company Laborgras, directed by Renate Graziadei and Arthur Stäldi, through which she also works with the choreographers David Hernandez and Keith A.Thompson. Recently she collaborates with the choreographer Jule Flierl for the piece time out of joint, premiered at Sophensaele, Berlin, 2023 and with Rita Mazza for Rita’s solo work which will premiere at Tanz Im August Festival 2024. She receives several scholarships amongst which the research fund Tanzpraxis 2022, sponsored by Berliner Senat for her choreographic practice “practice of an electric body”, “Movin’Up” sponsored by GAI and Einstiegsförderung, Berliner Senat 2018. In 2009 she co-founded the Milan based company Fattoria Vittadini with which she collaborates until 2021.
With her new work, still in progress, Mariagiulia is opening up a new artistic phase, grounding her choreographic research on the “practice of the electric body” based on the activation of body, voice and sound through physical, energetic and emotional crescendos.
